During the Golden Age of Piracy, Nassau was a hotbed of pirate activity, and with its convenient location close to Nassau Harbour, there’s no doubt that Graycliff was at the center of the action. Nassau’s caves were created by the sea, millions of years ago. The area that is now the caves was originally at sea level, and ocean waves gradually wore away the softer parts of the sedimentary rock, leaving what are now large hollows. The Lucayans, the original inhabitants of The Bahamas, used the caves for various purposes, including food storage and to protect themselves during hurricanes. These caves are now home to fruit bats. If you are lucky, you may even get to see one!

Could not have been a better experience. Captain Graybeard was fantastic and he really knows his stuff. He told us all kinds of trivia and brought us all around. Even got some ice cream and chocolate. Would 100% recommend

Best Jeep tour in the Bahamas!
angiebabyyy, 14-09-2022
My husband and I booked a cruise to the Bahamas to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and wanted to do something non-standard (no offense but excursions booked through cruise lines are not always the best). So we scoured the internet and came across this Jeep tour. We had the pleasure of riding with Pirate Dex and it was one of our best memories of this trip! Dexter was so knowledgeable and helpful. He was full of so many facts about his beautiful island and answered all of our questions. The best part is that this tour is totally catered to its guests, meaning, you’re given choices and can omit (or even add) certain spots. Dex took us to an amazing daiquiri spot; we loved it! Overall, we are so pleased that we chose this tour. Dex waited for us right at the exit of the cruise portal and had water/sodas ready for us in a cooler. We had such a blast and learned so much about the beautiful history of the Bahamas. I would definitely recommend this tour and Pirate Dex!!!! PS- they DO dress as pirates and it’s too cute!!!
Amazing!!

Captain Dark Chocolate was a great tour guide. He was very informative about the history of the island and took time to let us view the stops that we were at.
Pirate Jeep tour….ARRRR
JohnH8769, 01-12-2022
Great day of seeing the local culture. Only two of us passengers in the Jeep with Captain Jams. Being a small group, was able to modify the sightseeing timings to accommodate what we wanted to spend more time at. Captain Jams was very knowledgeable about the history on the things on the route and included personal experiences from his time living here. Definitely worth the time to do this trip. Had a great afternoon
Wonderful!!!!

We didn't actually take the tour, but we did pay for it. Because of lack of information from our cruise ship, I assumed we were docking in Nassau, but we docked in Freeport, a very long ways away. However, comma, when I explained this to the Head pirate, he refunded the entire price to me the same day. Now that is a company that I would do business with anytime. We ended up renting a jeep in Freeport, self drive, and had a.........unique.......experience. We met some great people on the island, bought a very few things, and enjoyed our cruise. If you want to go with a company that's worth your trust, go with Pirate Jeep and Captain Jams.
Fun Island Tour

Captain Dark Chocolate did an excellent job keeping us entertained. He was knowledgeable and filled us with interesting facts
Highlight of the Trip!
Stella V, 13-12-2022
One of the best tours we've ever done! Captain Jams took our family of four (including 2 kids, ages 8 and 11) on a very fun afternoon adventure in and around Nassau. Knowledgeable and so good-natured, the kids especially loved chatting with Captain Jams and exchanging stories and jokes as we drove around the island. At the end of our tour, our youngest even invited him to visit us in Canada! We would highly recommend this tour, especially if you are staying at one of the resorts but want to learn more about the Bahamian people and their history. Totally worth it. (And before I forget, Captain Wolf sends her regards, haha).
Awesome

My husband and I booked the in order to do some sightseeing with more of a local perspective, and it did not disappoint. Capt. Crunch was our guide, and he was very friendly and informative. He did a great job of tailoring the tour towards our interests, even working in a stop so we could pick up some local rum and mixers to take back to our resort - very helpful when the hotel bars charge $30 per cocktail! The open-air Jeeps are so fun to ride in! We learned a lot about the history of the islands. Don’t hesitate to try this one.
Shoutout to Captain Dark Chocolate!
Odyssey66040908595, 08-12-2022
Overall tour was awesome! Captain Dark Chocolate was very knowledgeable about all sorts of history from Bahamian pirates to local development, gave us ample time to check out the chocolate/cigar workshop near Graycliff and other sightseeing locations, and was very humorous! Would recommend to friends and readers.
Captain Dark Chocolate for the WIN!!
Allison_G, 31-12-2022
Captain Dark Chocolate was very knowledgeable about the city and was a great sport to our son’s comical jokes. He was a great driver, conversationalist and was super at reminding us when to take pictures. He even offered to take our family photo at various stopping points along the tour. We loved climbing into a cave, visiting the Queen’s Staircase, seeing Fort Fincastle, and sampling products at a chocolate factory, winery, and rum distillery. Great tour for kids and families who love learning the history of Nassau in an air conditioned jeep with drinks.
The best excursion we’ve ever done while cruising. Don’t hesitate to book!!!
Erica23, 31-12-2022
Captain Conkey and Captain Graybeard really made us fall in love w Nassau and it’s culture. I’ll be honest, most of the people in our group didn’t even want to get off the cruise ship in Nassau but I’m so glad we did. They took us around the whole island, visiting many historical sites along the way, all while keeping us very entertained and engaged. That’s pretty hard to do when our group of 8 consist of children ranging from 7yrs old to 15yrs old. Not only did we visit all the historical sites but we also stopped in a chocolate shop, ice cream parlor, and rum distillery! It was a true boutique feel tour: allowing us to stop whenever we needed and taking our time at all our many pit stops along the way. Please don’t hesitate to book your trip with them. It’s the best excursion we’ve ever done while cruising. Well done Pirate Jeep Tours!! We are super impressed by your professionalism, knowledge, and overall experience with you all!!
Worth it!
hhijazi01, 30-12-2022
Captain Dark Chocolate was very friendly and respectful, we had a great time. We had fresh coconuts, the best pina colada (even the kids loved the alcohol-free version), and fresh chocolate from the chocolate factory. We also stopped by to buy some souvenirs. It was worth the money spent.
AMAZING
melindasdy, 28-12-2022
Captain Jamz was AMAZING! He was friendly, funny and very knowable. We made all of us (13 years old to 49 years old) feel very comfortable. We will be recommending him/company to friends that are coming in January.
Awesome trip!
couttiebug, 27-12-2022
So much fun!! The pirates were really great and certainly knew their way around! We had a wonderful time and will definitely do it again! Dexter is great at communicating and everything went super smoothly! Thanks Captain Dark Chocolate and Captain Caramel for a very memorable day! Aaaaaarghhhhh!

Cucchitravels, 09-01-2023
Captain Krunch was fantastic! He and Captain Carmel met us at the port. We had a private tour for our family of 7 and 2 jeeps. Both pirates were fabulous and our whole crew loved the tour. My husband and I had been to Nassau many times, and the last couple of times we stayed on the ship thinking Nassau was old hat. I'm so glad that we took the tour, the island is so beautiful and the people so friendly. We had the best daiquiris, learned some history and fun facts, and took home some island vodka, just to name a few things. Our kids ages ranged from 6-17 and they all enjoyed it. Our 6 year old was sad when it was over. Book it now!
Jeep Driving Pirates For the Win
Gary_C, 09-01-2023
Captain Krunch! He was the best. Native born and raised he made the island come to life. We had been to Nassau many times, but never toured the island. We enjoyed our time on the island learning and taking in the sights. Had the best daiquiri even brought home some island vodka (not big rum drinkers here). Don’t hesitate to book this. We had a private tour, 2 jeeps for our family of 7. Kids ages ranged from 6-17 and all enjoyed it!
Great tour!
Diablo982, 08-01-2023
We came to the Bahamas via a cruise ship and Captain Bling met us just outside the gate at the dock. It can be pretty hectic with all the tourists, guys/girls offering tours, taxis, etc but just look for the guy with the pirate hat! The tour was very professional and informative. Captain Bling offered us two options on every stop: generally one with more walking/hiking and one “observation only”. If you don’t have any major medical issues, I strongly recommend you take the walking option. We covered much of the island, it was so much better having a driver take us around verses renting a car and negotiating traffic. I would definitely recommend!
Fantastic- well worth the money
Beachwaves123, 07-01-2023
Captain Krunch was our pirate guide and he was FANTASTIC!! Very knowledgeable about the history of the island and pirates. He customized the tour however we wanted depending on your sense of adventure. The bat cave was awesome!! Definitely take the keep with no doors.
Take lots of pictures and have fun matey!!

Two great personalities who had put together a thoughtful and interesting tour. They were keen to let us know that they were flexible to our needs
Private Adventure on a Day with 5 Other Cruise Ships
Bekah A, 30-01-2023
We had a fantastic time with on our keep tour. They were able to accommodate a scavenger hunt as teams within the same jeep for our family. Captain Dark Chocolate answered all of our questions and never rushed us. He was super charismatic and even made people smile as we drove by. I highly recommend pirate jeep tours. We stopped in Nassau with 5 other cruise ships and loved having an adventure that was just our family. He was also kind enough to drop us off wherever we would like at the end of the tour.
Entertaining and Fun!
