Bahamas daily private boat charters

Question 1

What is included in a private day boat charter in Bahamas?

Accepted Answer

A private day boat charter in Bahamas includes the vessel, safety equipment, and access to permitted onboard facilities. Depending on the local market and specific boat policy, essential services like a professional captain and fuel may be included in the base price or charged as a mandatory daily extra. Please check the specific "Trips & Rates" breakdown on the vessel's page before booking to confirm local pricing structures.

Question 2

How long does a private day boat charter usually last?

Accepted Answer

Private day boat charters in Bahamas typically offer half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) booking slots. A 4-hour charter is perfect for a morning dip, an afternoon cruise, or a dedicated sunset excursion. Opting for an 8-hour full-day rental gives your group ample time to drop anchor at secluded bays, snorkel historic wrecks, and fully experience the coastline at a relaxed pace.

Question 3

Can we choose the route for our private boat charter?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. One of the primary benefits of a private charter in Bahamas is the freedom to tailor your day. While your captain will recommend the optimal route based on real-time weather and sea conditions, the itinerary is completely customizable. You can easily coordinate your day to include exclusive beach clubs, hidden snorkeling reefs, scenic sightseeing, or a dedicated sunset cruise.

Question 4

Are private boat charters suitable for families?

Accepted Answer

Yes, private boat charters are ideal for family gatherings because the pace, route, and activities are entirely up to you. A private setting allows multi-generational groups to relax without outside disruptions. Most family-friendly vessels in Bahamas feature essential comfort amenities, including expansive shaded decks, clean restrooms, stable boarding ladders, and certified safety gear for all ages.

Question 5

Do private boat charters include a captain?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a professional captain is typically provided or available for most private rentals in Bahamas, including luxury catamarans, motor yachts, and sailing vessels. Depending on the local charter structure, the skipper fee may be included in your base rate or added as an essential extra. For experienced boaters looking at bareboat rentals, you can easily opt to add a local captain to your reservation during the booking process if you prefer not to captain the vessel yourself.

Question 6

What should we bring on a private day charter?

Accepted Answer

Pack eco-friendly sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, swimwear, a phone charger, and a light jacket for Bahamas breezes. Clean soft-soled shoes or bare feet are required onboard. Always check your vessel's profile first to confirm if towels, food, and drinks are included, or if outside provisions are permitted. If bringing your own refreshments, choose stable finger foods like wraps, sandwiches, or cut fruit. To protect premium yacht upholstery, strictly avoid fragile glassware, red wine, messy sauces, or loose grains like rice and crumbly pastries that scatter in the wind.

Question 7

Can we book a private sunset boat charter?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Private sunset charters are exceptionally popular experiences in Bahamas. Typically organized as an exclusive 2 to 3-hour evening cruise, they provide the ultimate backdrop for romantic proposals, intimate anniversaries, birthday celebrations, or a relaxed golden hour sail with family. We recommend reviewing individual vessel profiles to see if premium extras like a complimentary bottle of champagne or local appetizers are included to toast the evening.

Question 8

Are food and drinks included on private boat charters?

Accepted Answer

Food and beverage inclusions in Bahamas depend on the vessel class. Luxury yachts frequently offer full catering, open bars, or onboard chefs, while day boats may only include light snacks and water. Always check the "Trips and Rates" section first to see what is included or if outside provisions are permitted. If bringing your own refreshments, prioritize neat finger foods, wraps, and bottled drinks. To protect premium yacht upholstery from sudden sea breezes, strictly avoid red wine, fragile glassware, and loose grains like rice.

Question 9

How many people can join a private day boat charter?

Accepted Answer

Passenger capacity in Bahamas is determined by vessel size and coast guard safety laws. Most luxury motor yachts and catamarans are legally capped at a maximum of 12 guests. Smaller sport boats typically host 4 to 8 passengers. For larger corporate groups or events exceeding 12 guests, please view our specialty high-capacity vessels or contact our team to arrange a multi-boat flotilla.

Question 10

What happens if the weather is bad?

Accepted Answer

Safety is our absolute priority in Bahamas. If severe weather or sea conditions prevent safe navigation, your captain will offer alternative coastal routes, reschedule your trip, or the charter operator will provide a full refund. Light overcast or brief rain showers do not automatically cancel your excursion.
